Blairs Windows and Doors Honoured with Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award
We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded the prestigious Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Silver Award, the second-highest honour available to organisations demonstrating exceptional support for the Armed Forces community. This accolade acknowledges our significant commitment to employing and supporting Reservists, service leavers, Cadet Force Adult Volunteers, and their families.
The ERS Silver Award is a testament to our dedication to fostering a forces-friendly workplace, recognising the valuable skills and experience that individuals from the Armed Forces bring to the civilian workforce. Our proactive policies and initiatives ensure that service personnel and their families feel supported and valued within the company.
We previously demonstrated our commitment by receiving the ERS Bronze Award, a pledge to support current and former members of the Defence community through the Armed Forces Covenant. This initial recognition came at the Lowland Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association (RFCA) Business Breakfast, held in April earlier this year at the historic Trump Turnberry hotel and golf resort.

The official awards presentation ceremony is scheduled to take place on the 9th of October at the historic Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life in Coatbridge. This event will bring together businesses and organisations from across Scotland who have been recognised for their outstanding support of the Armed Forces.

The Silver Award signifies a significant milestone for us, highlighting our exemplary efforts and setting a benchmark for other businesses to follow in creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for those who serve and have served our country.
